Marvin Samson is a distinguished member of Frontier Zdravlje’s Board, bringing over six decades of expertise in the global pharmaceutical industry. He is the founder and CEO of Samson Medical Technologies LLC, which focuses on advanced drug delivery systems. Marvin has also founded and led multiple successful companies, including Marsam Pharmaceuticals and Elkins-Sinn (now Hikma Pharmaceuticals).
Throughout his career, Marvin has held prominent roles in several notable companies, including serving as the President and CEO of SICOR, Inc, a global leader in injectables, complex generics and API company which was acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical for over $3 billion in 2003. Marvin then held senior positions at Teva including Group Vice President of Worldwide Injectables. In 2007 Marvin joined Qualitest Inc (now Endo Pharmaceuticals, a leading US generic pharmaceutical company) as Chairman and CEO where he remained until the acquisition of Qualitest by Endo in 2010. Since September 2016, he has been Chairman of Avet Pharmaceuticals Inc.
Marvin holds five U.S. patents pertaining to pharmaceutical manufacturing. He also is active on numerous charitable and industry boards. He served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia from 2011 through July 2020 and was its Interim President for the 2015 and 2011-12 academic year. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Virtua Health System, NanoPass Technologies Ltd., and Flynn Pharma. He is a former director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited, Antares Pharma Inc., The Franklin Institute, and Cooper Rowan Medical School. He is a past chairman of the Generic Pharmaceutical Association in the US and a past president of the PDE, a pharmaceutical trade association.
A recipient of various awards for business leadership, Mr. Samson continues to serve the community through charitable support of educational institutions, hospitals, healthcare research and development, and children’s programs. A resident of Palm Beach, FL, Marvin has three children, seven grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
